What’s your thought about the raise of Android compared to the iPhone? They now sell 200K devices a day.
As a user, and as a developer? My feeling is users buying iPhones are more willing to buy applications on the appstore than Android users, which only buy… a phone. But I may be wrong.
As a user, I like the fact I’m connected all the time to IM like gtalk.
Indeed, Android users are less willing to buy applications. But maybe that’s also because there’s no control on which application gets to the Android Market.
So when you buy something, you don’t have the absolute guarantee that it’ll be awesome (you can get a refund in the 24 hours after buying an app however. But I don’t think a lot of users know that).
The only thing that bothers me is the high number of companies offering only an iPhone app.
The iPhone is only one phone and it’s as closed as we know it.
I still don’t understand how a company can play poker like that trying to get apps accepted on the iphone store.

I have just changed my iphone 3G to a 4 after long thinking. There is my though:
1) I want a PHONE and I want one well packaged => Apple
2) I have already a bunch of connectors to HiFi, car, … => Locked by apple
3) I want to be sure that my phone with access to my CB and SIM is well protected and when I install an app, I do not want to fear. On Appstore there is no troyan, …
4) Even if I like customizing (Linux since 13 years) I like things that works well when buyed
I think that for point 3) Android Market will evolve and in one year my next phone may be an android one.
Note: My phone is jaibreaked, and without it I will not want one.

Damien : I think it depends of what iPhone application you’re doing, a game will always be approved, but if you’re doing something related to music… then it’s tough.
Xav : same reason I have an iPhone.
